Spanish clothing is know for its elegance and styles of fashion. The citizens of Spain where their traditional clothing on holidays, festivals, and bull fights. Some of the traditional clothing that is worn in Spain are flamenco costumes. Flamenco dresses come in many colors like red, black, white, navy blue, and many dark colors. Women flamenco dancers wear frilly dresses with high heels, a rose behind their ear, and their hair up in a bun. Men flamenco dancers wear a tuxedo shirt and pants.
Accessories:Mantilla- A scarf worn over the head and shoulders, usually over a high comb. This is usually worn by women from Spain.
Peineta- Similar in appearance to a large comb to hold up a mantilla. You can usually see it in a tortoise shell color.
Gilet- A sleeveless jacket, like a waistcoat or a blouse. It is usually waist-knee length. In the nineteenth century, it was a dress bodice shaped a mens waistcoat.
The shoes worn by flamenco dancers are like tap shoes, but they have a heel. They are metal on the bottom and on the heel and they are secured around your foot and ankle by tying it like ballet shoes.Other accessories that are used with the flamenco dress are fans, castanets, and shawls.
